Lootborne System Requirements and Steam Deck Status
Official Lootborne minimum and recommended PC specs, why the corner-window design keeps them low, and the current Steam Deck and Linux situation.
Lootborne’s hardware bar is genuinely low, and the reason is visible in every official screenshot: the game is designed to run in a small window on the corner of a desktop, not to fill a screen.
The official table below is the whole requirement. Both columns demand a 64-bit processor and operating system.
Official minimum and recommended specs
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 | Windows 11 |
| Processor | Intel i3 | Intel i5 |
| Memory | 2 GB RAM | 4 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Intel HD Graphics 4000 | NVIDIA GTX series 10 |
| DirectX | Version 11 | Version 11 |
| Storage | 500 MB available space | 500 MB available space |
That is the entire list, copied from the store page on 23 September 2026. There is no separate VRAM figure and no resolution target listed.
The storage figure is the interesting one
Half a gigabyte. For comparison, most modern releases ask for tens of gigabytes. The game achieves this because it is a pixel-art idle title with a small window and a modest asset set.
Two other things come with the game by default and are worth knowing before you buy: Steam achievements, 27 of them, and Steam Cloud support.
Why 64-bit is a hard requirement
Both columns state it explicitly: Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system. This is not boilerplate. A 32-bit Windows install cannot run the game regardless of the other specs.
If you are on an older machine, check Settings > System > About in Windows for the system type before anything else. Everything else on the list is likely to be satisfied already.
Steam Deck: the official answer is “unknown”
The store page shows a Steam Deck compatibility line reading Unknown, with a link to Steam’s own compatibility explanation. It is not marked Playable, Verified or Unsupported. The developer simply has not published a rating.
Unknown is not the same as unsupported. It means there is no verdict to report, and any site telling you it runs perfectly on Deck is going on community reports rather than an official statement.
Linux: no native build, and thin reporting
There is no Linux version of Lootborne. The store page lists Windows only, and there is no separate Linux depot.
Linux players therefore depend on Proton. The evidence available is thin: the official Steam discussion board has threads with titles like “Does it run on Linux?” and a report about a data collection prompt blocking progress under Proton. Those are individual posts, not a compatibility survey.
If you are on Linux, check the current Proton database entry for app 4335620 and read the most recent reports before buying. Nobody can promise you a result from a fan page.
Checking your own machine in about a minute
- Confirm the operating system is 64-bit Windows 10 or newer.
- Check the processor against “Intel i3” as a rough floor. Any modern desktop chip clears it.
- Check RAM. Two gigabytes is the floor; four makes it comfortable.
- Confirm about 500 MB of free disk space.
- Ignore the graphics card unless you are below integrated Intel HD 4000 territory, which means a machine from roughly 2012 or earlier.
That is a low enough bar that most working laptops from the last decade should pass. If you want to confirm the game’s own limits rather than your machine’s, the download page covers what it does offline.
